Our work

The SASHA Coalition

Our goals

Green hydrogen and carbon dioxide from direct air capture (DAC) will play a crucial role in the transition to a global net zero economy by 2050. However, if this is to happen, the limited supplies of green hydrogen and DAC must be targeted towards the industries where they provide the fastest, most efficient route to decarbonisation.

Our goal is to achieve a just transition to a net zero future in the aviation and shipping sectors, where green hydrogen and DAC will play a crucial role. It is an ambitious goal, but one that is achievable with the right supportive policy framework, resources, and collaboration between industry and decision makers.

What are we doing to make this happen?

The Skies and Seas Hydrogen-fuels Accelerator Coalition – or SASHA for short – was formed to make this ambition a reality.

Our aim is to unify aviation and shipping to raise awareness of the vital role of green hydrogen and DAC in the decarbonisation of these two sectors.

The SASHA Coalition will bring together peers from the aviation and shipping sectors to form one powerful, unified voice on this issue to have greater influence over policy.

If you are from an aviation or shipping company and are interested in joining, read the SASHA members FAQ to find out more.

Why do our partners trust us?

Aoife O’Leary, CEO of Opportunity Green who is leading the coalition says:

“Individual airlines and shipping companies are calling for green hydrogen in their sectors, but their voices are not loud enough on their own. These industries need to form one powerful, unified voice on this issue so they have greater influence over policy.

“The SASHA Coalition will help to facilitate policy discussions and provide members with the knowledge, tools, assets and materials they need to make an impact.”
